News & Views That Wouldn't Fit: Notes from the Compositor's Bench—A Miscreant Abroad: Edwin H. Porter, Lecturer, Or, God Bless Thee, Ink-Stained Pygmy!
The snowfall has bound me indoors today, Reader. The entire city seems similarly afflicted. The Borden sisters, at last report, were weathering the current blast safely and warmly ensconced in the French Street domicile. By Douglas A. Walters
Lizzie's Grand Tour
Grand Tour—the words roll off the tongue like the “Open Sesame” to Aladdin’s secret cave! The words tourism and tourist evolved from these two magic words that meant, for most lucky enough to enjoy it, freedom, discovery, and a glimpse of a larger world. By Shelley Dziedzic
92 Seconds: The Second Street Sentinels
It is hard to appreciate just how much that hive was humming until you examine maps of the neighborhood and the number of witness statements from neighbors, shopkeepers, and laborers within a two-block radius. Many had a clear view of the house. None had seen anything out of the ordinary.
By Mary Elizabeth Naugle

Addresses by number from the 1892 Fall River City Directory.

Edwin Porter's Grave
Edwin H. Porter is one of the most well known authors on the Borden murders of 1892. During Lizzie’s trial for the double homicide of her father and stepmother, Porter, a police reporter for the Fall River Daily Globe and correspondent of the Boston Herald, covered the case diligently.

The Cutting Room: Critical Notes on the Borden Legacy —The Value of Fall River’s Private Disgrace:
How to Read Victoria Lincoln
A Private Disgrace: Lizzie Borden by Daylight has been one of the most influential books in the Borden literature. For the dedicated student it is required reading. Many of Victoria Lincoln’s ideas have become commonly held (though factually unsubstantiated) beliefs among readers.
By Eugene Hosey
Denise Noe's Lizzie Whittlings: Medical and Forensic Science in the Borden Case
The Borden murders took place in 1892, in the final days of the Victorian era, which ended with the death of Queen Victoria in 1901. It was a period that had seen a great deal of ferment in the scientific realm.
